Drew Galloway’s work evinces a familiarity with nature and a sense of wonderment at its physical qualities. A major component of his creative process is selecting the right surface for a given subject from his library of metal and other materials and incorporating its physical features into his paintings. By “collaborating with the material,” as he describes it, he allows it to be present and visible in his works.
A native of Birmingham, Alabama, Galloway attended the Alabama School of Fine Arts, Memphis Academy of Art, and the Atlanta College of Art. He has exhibited extensively throughout the Southeast and his work resides in numerous public and private collections.
